According to the UAE Federal Law, Begging is a punishable offence. However, People continue to disregard the law which in turn have forced the Government to conduct anti-begging campaigns.

Activities of begging has shown an increase, as the country is observing the holy month of Ramadan.

People who are accused of begging, may be referred to the Ministry of Community Development, if they qualify for social welfare.

They will get social support or trained for work.
